Ever felt calm when making choices alone? Or noticed you’re not swayed by what others say? These could be signs that you don’t need others’ approval. I was watching a video about “how to be treated like a queen” and heard a quick tip: “When you wish someone would tell you you’re beautiful, go to the mirror and say it to yourself because that’s what I did.” It was at that moment it hit me—I never feel this way. Does this mean I don’t seek validation? That’s when I decided to write this blog, thinking someone might appreciate reading about it. Here are signs you value yourself and trust your decisions.
Being able to handle feedback without feeling attacked is a clear sign. You see criticism as a chance to grow, not a personal hit. This shows you have strong self-esteem, separate from others’ opinions.
When someone is in a bad mood, you don’t take it personally and you don’t make it about you. You understand that how people choose to act has nothing to do with you. You don’t let anyone’s mood dictate your mood or ruin your day. This emotional independence shows that you can maintain your own peace and not be swayed by others’ emotional states.
Do you enjoy being alone and feel okay with it? People who don’t seek approval often find peace in solitude. They don’t need constant company to feel good about themselves. Loving your own company is not something that should be taken lightly because it hold so much power.
Making choices based on your values shows you don’t need others’ approval. This indicates a strong sense of self. When you’re self assured, you don’t have the time to worry about what others think about you because you’re busy working on your goals, minding your own business and ever bettering yourself. You trust your decisions and are confident in your choices.
If you don’t seek praise, it shows you’re confident inside. You’re happy with your achievements and don’t need others to validate them…And the obvious, you don’t need to be told you’re beautiful or your outfit looks good because you know it and you already complimented yourself. This doesn’t mean you don’t appreciate compliments lol.
Being okay with saying “no” shows you value your well-being. You respect your limits and don’t feel guilty about setting boundaries. This is a sign of self-respect.
Focusing on your strengths and accomplishments is a sign of inner strength. Positive self-talk boosts your self-worth and helps you handle negative feedback.
Now this one can be very hard to achieve because of all the noise in this world with social media and all… But if you see everyone’s journey as unique and don’t compare yourself, you’re self-assured. You know your path is different, and you don’t measure success by others.
Feeling okay with making your own decisions, handling criticism well, enjoying your own company, and setting boundaries shows strong self-worth and it screams CONFIDENCE. Embracing these signs can lead to a more fulfilling life.
